Host a Job Shadowing

Invite a group of teens from our Career Awareness Program to your office to learn about your career field. Job shadowings are immersive workshops that give students in our Career Awareness Program a chance to connect their interests to a future career. Fresh Air staff will help you plan the details!

Examples of past job shadowings include: designing a marketing campaign with Nike, a stock market game with Morgan Stanley, and developing a new video game with Take 2 Interactive. Job shadowings take place from 5:30-6:30pm during the week or during the daytime on weekends or school holidays. Projects take place during the school year and typically include 10-20 students and Fresh Air chaperones.

Summer Send-Offs

Help send Fresh Air kids off with a smile! Volunteer teams provide a warm welcome for Fresh Air kids as they get ready to embark on their summer adventures. They can help with greeting and directing families to designated areas or lines and making sure that families are prepared for Check-In with luggage tags. Details: Groups of 4 – 6; Send-Offs take place on select weekdays during the summer between 6:30am and 11:00am.

Fresh Air in the City Community Events

Sponsor a community event! Volunteer teams help entertain children with carnival games while their parents learn about Fresh Air programs at special registration events held throughout the five boroughs. These events bring out hundreds of community members for a family-friendly day of fun.

Past projects include a street fair on the Lower East Side; a carnival in a park in Woodside, Queens; and a festival in a school auditorium in Sunnyside, Brooklyn. Details: Groups of 20+, events typically take place in the Spring.

Fresh Air Fund Outreach Calls

Help The Fresh Air Fund prepare for summer! Volunteers help make phone calls to families. Outreach Calls are typically scheduled on weeknights from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at The Fresh Air Fund’s midtown office. Some weekday options are available.

Tutoring and Mentoring

Promote The Fresh Air Fund’s popular tutoring and mentoring programs at your company. We are always looking to recruit dedicated volunteers from New York City’s diverse corporate community to serve as tutors and mentors for our weekly after-school programs.

Camp Beautification Days

Help us get our camps ready before the camping season begins. Spend the day at our 2,000-acre property in Fishkill, NY and help with beautification projects to prepare our camps to host campers, excited to play and learn. Past projects include: painting the barn at the model farm, cleaning windows, brush clearing, setting up the waterfront equipment, or pre-season planting at the farm. Details: Groups of 20-50. Projects take place in the Fall and Spring at our property in Fishkill, NY -just 70 miles north of NYC in the beautiful Hudson Highlands. Lunch included.

Pro-Bono Projects and In-Kind Donations

Donate your time and professional expertise – The Fresh Air Fund is always interested in hearing from pro-bono photographers, graphic designers, and more! In addition, let us know if your company can donate in-kind printing services, exciting auction or raffle items for our special events or has other services to donate.

Support our Annual Galas

The Fresh Air Fund holds two major fundraising events each year, bringing together the who’s who of New Yorkers in business, media, fashion, technology and more. Each event provides an opportunity for brand exposure and to engage employees or clients in a fun and inspiring night in support of a great cause.

Plan a Fundraising Event at Your Office

Jeans Day, office-wide basketball tournaments, spin fundraisers, and other office events are a great way to engage employees and support Fresh Air kids!
