WHAT IS TUTORING?
Tutoring is a free service offered to all Career Awareness Program participants. Each student is paired with one tutor and is able to choose which subject area he/she wants to work on.
WHERE DOES TUTORING TAKE PLACE?
Tutoring takes place in The Fresh Air Fund’s Manhattan office, located at 633 Third Avenue, 14th Floor, between 40th and 41st Streets. Students can take the 4, 5, 6, 7, or S to Grand Central Station.
We also offer virtual tutoring based on the location of the tutor.
WHEN IS TUTORING?
Tutoring runs on a semester by semester basis. Fall Semester is from October– December and Spring Semester is from February–April. Students choose one night to attend for the entire semester (Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday) and should arrive at the office no later than 5:45 PM on their selected day. Each session runs from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM.
HOW DO I SIGN UP MY CHILD?
You need to complete the Tutoring Registration form, tutoring contract, and send in a copy of your child’s most RECENT report card. Slots are filled based on need of academic support, and the three required documents MUST be turned in. Confirmation emails will be sent to notify you if your child has been given a slot.
