Fresh Air Summer Spaces are fun, free and safe play spaces around the city for NYC children ages 5-13

MASKS AND SANITIZING SUPPLIES ARE AVAILABLE FOR CHILDREN WHO NEED THEM

SAFETY INFORMATION

  • Do daily temperature checks for each child, which must be under 100.4°F and children must have no other signs of illness
    • Nursing Assistants make final decisions on participation
    • If signs and symptoms of illness are observed, the Nursing Assistant will contact the parent/caregiver to pick up child immediately
  • Escort children to activity area for check-in and bring them to you for check-out
  • Provide water for all children as needed
  • Limit capacity to 30 children per session in the supervised activity area
  • Clean and disinfect frequently during and between sessions

 CANCELLATIONS:

  • We will inform you of cancellations due to rain or extreme heat by text message or email 
  • Please make sure that contact information is up to date
  • Once cancelled/suspended, the Summer Space remains closed for the day
  • No make-up days/sessions for cancellations/suspensions

REQUIREMENTS FOR PARENTS/GUARDIANS

  • Sign the COVID-19 Assumption of Risk/Waiver
  • Keep your child home if they are not feeling well or have a fever at or above 100.4°F
  • Make sure that your child uses the restroom before checking in (locations are open, outdoor spaces with no access to restrooms) 
  • Honor the six feet markings on the ground during check-in and check-out
  • Bring only yourself and your child to check-in and check-out whenever possible to prevent crowding
  • Wear masks covering both the nose and mouth at check-in and check-out
  • Make sure your child has medical supplies (e.g. asthma inhaler or epi-pen) and knows how to use it
  • Please do not enter designated areas for children and staff – you can bring a chair and sit on the sidewalk in designated spots
  • Be on time to meet your child at the pick-up time 

REMEMBER, BEFORE YOU ARRIVE AT A SUMMER SPACE…

  • Children and adults need to wear masks covering both the nose and mouth
  • Bring your own labeled and filled water bottle from home and any medical supplies 
  • Do not share supplies or equipment with other children, not even siblings
  • Summer Spaces are food-free to ensure the safety of all children and manage food allergies
  • Please leave valuables at home – The Fresh Air Fund is not responsible for lost or stolen items
