Summer Spaces FAQ
What should I bring? What should I leave at home?
Please bring a filled water bottle with a name tag for your child. If your child needs any medical supplies (asthma inhaler, epi-pen, etc.), please make sure they bring it and know how to use it. Supplies and equipment should not be shared with other children, including siblings.
Summer Spaces are food-free to ensure the safety of all children and manage food allergies.
Please leave valuables at home. The Fresh Air Fund is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
What safety precautions are you taking?
All children and staff are required to wear masks. There will be daily temperature checks for each child, which must be under 100.4°F, and children must have no other signs of illness. Your child should stay home if they are not feeling well or have a fever at or above 100.4°F. If signs of illness are observed, we will contact the parent/caregiver to pick up their child immediately.
There will be no more than 30 children per session in the supervised activity area. Activity areas will be cleaned and disinfected frequently during and between sessions.
How will I know if a session is canceled?
We will announce cancellations due to rain or extreme heat via text message and/or email. If a session is cancelled or suspended, the Summer Space site will be closed for the day. We are not able to provide make-up days/sessions.
What else should I know as a parent/guardian?
Please remember your child’s mask and water bottle. Your child should wear comfortable clothes/shoes and be ready to be active!
Please make sure your child uses the restroom before arriving (all locations are outdoors and some have limited access to restrooms).
What do I need to know for check-in and check-out?
During check-in and check-out, you must follow the six feet markings on the ground and wear a mask. When possible, do not bring additional family members to check-in and check-out to prevent overcrowding. You can bring a chair and sit on the sidewalk in designated spots, you are not able to enter designated areas for children and staff.
Only parents/guardians and emergency contacts listed on the registration form are permitted to pick up your child.
