Summer 2020 Program Summary
Since 1877, The Fresh Air Fund has served more than 1.8 million New York City children. That tradition carries on through our summer and year-round programming. Every child’s Fresh Air experience begins with a summer that can last a lifetime in either our Friendly Towns or Camping programs.

This summer, The Fresh Air Fund is planning four areas of programming to provide alternatives for children and to keep the magic of summer alive:
FRESH AIR EVERYWHERE (7-13 year olds)
This virtual programming with a focus on exploration and an understanding of all the world has to offer. The camps will provide age-appropriate arts, STEM, and literacy activities based on weekly themes. Sessions will be 1-week each, with 3 hours of live programming each day from 9am-12pm.
FRESH AIR YOUTH INTERNSHIPS, CREDENTIALING & TRAINING (14-17 year olds)
This stipend-based workforce development program will engage teens in structured project-based learning, professional credentialing, and workforce training opportunities. Time commitment depends on program, ranging from 3 to 4 hours per day for 3 weeks up to 7 weeks.
FRESH AIR SUMMER SPACES (5-13 year olds) *
This community-based programming providing access to supervised, age-appropriate outdoor fun for children close to where they live. Fresh Air Summer Spaces will offer arts & crafts, education, and recreation activities. As planned, 2-hour sessions (10am-12pm, 12pm-2pm, and 2pm-4pm) will be offered 3 times each week.
FRESH AIR FAMILY WELLNESS *
This family engagement opportunity providing three-day, two-night experiences at one of our camp facilities in Fishkill, NY and in Harriman State Park.
* Program details are still being finalized. Sign up now to be at the top of the waiting list.
