Teen Program Staff

At Camp ABC, the Precious Center for Teen Leadership is intended to give young women a safe, nurturing environment to focus on their futures. Teen Program Specialists will design and lead workshops for teen campers (ages 13-15) around topics such as leadership, personal growth and community service. They will create approximately six workshops that will be conducted throughout the summer and will act as General Counselors for teen program campers as well.

Position Description

  • Create approximately six workshops that will be conducted throughout the summer.
  • Facilitate a minimum of two workshops for campers focused on the core principles of the Teen Leadership Program.
  • Assume the responsibilities of a General Counselor role as well as Workshop Facilitator.
  • Provide 24-hour-day direct supervision, leadership and guidance to twelve campers with assigned co-counselors. Assume responsibility for their safety and well-being.
  • Live in a cabin with campers and co-counselors during each camp session. Time off with be arranged by a supervisor.
  • Understand that campers come first and decisions should be made in the best interest of campers.
  • Be an active member of the camp community by participating in all camp programming including camp-wide events, overnights, hikes, swimming, ropes courses, activities and village meetings.
  • Maintain records on each campers to help evaluate their needs, goals and progress during their camp experience.
  • Strive to work in a cooperative manner with fellow staff to achieve goals of the program.
  • Invest time with campers to meet their needs, challenge their capabilities, and serve as a role model during their time at camp.
  • Explain and enforce the policies, traditions, and rules of camp.
  • Assume responsibility for the use and care of camp equipment and facilities.
  • Be totally familiar with emergency procedures and follow them when necessary.

Summer salary: 

Salaries start at $2,300 and include room and board.


  • Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of camp.
  • At least two years of college or equivalent is preferred.
  • A minimum of one-year experience working with children is required.
  • Prior experience working with teens and/or facilitating workshops for teens is highly preferred.
  • Passionate about working with children.
  • Interested in working and living in the outdoors for the summer.
  • Emotionally mature with a willingness to work as a team player.
  • Flexible and willing to accept challenges and step outside comfort zone.
  • Able to maintain a positive attitude.
  • Available for the entire duration of the summer program.
