How will my child’s profile be protected?
The Fresh Air Fund has access to all of the registration information and virtual profiles which campers will create. Information will be stored securely in our database, and any accounts created will be secure and monitored by Fresh Air staff.
How will you protect children from cyberbullying?
Our staff are trained to recognize the signs of bullying and trained on how to address it. We also are taking many steps to create a welcoming online community where children will respect one another.
Do I need to log on for my child?
No! The program is designed for campers to log on and participate independently. Of course, they may need guidance the first one or two times they log on.
Will I need to help my child and provide supervision during the program?
The program is designed for campers to participate independently.
What happens if my child is enrolled and can no longer participate?
Please let us know as soon as possible if your child cannot attend the session they are registered for. We may be able to place your child in another session, and give another child an opportunity to participate.
What are the goals of the program?
Our Fresh Air Everywhere Virtual Camp program provides an opportunity for our camping and Friendly Towns participants to connect. Fresh Air Everywhere brings the “outside in” which means bringing in the outdoors and nature and helping children learn more about and explore everything that is out there in the world — and to have fun!
What if my child can’t attend a day?
Please let your child’s counselors know if your child needs to miss a day.
Who will be interacting with and supervising my child?
Each camper will be placed into a bunk group of 12 kids and 2 counselors. They will be in the same group all week. Each activity will be taught by a specialist who has been trained to facilitate virtual programs.
Can my other children participate, if they are not enrolled?
We encourage you to register each child so that they can each attend sessions for their appropriate age group. Your other children are welcome to listen in and participate.
Is the platform available in multiple languages?
The platform is only available in English, but The Fresh Air Fund staff are available to support you in multiple languages. Please call The Fresh Air Fund at 800-367-0003 for support.
Can my child participate in more than one week?
Depending on program demand, we may be able to offer children the opportunity to attend more than one camp and participate in a different programming theme.
How are counselors screened?
Counselors are screened with a through application process which includes an interview and background check, including checking references.
Can my child sign up for more than one kind of Fresh Air Everywhere program?
Yes, your child is welcome to attend all Fresh Air Everywhere programs they are eligible for based on their age.
